We are delighted to welcome Jennifer to our growing team of training specialists!
Jennifer has been involved in infection control and decontamination for over 35 years both in the NHS and the MedTech Industry. Jennifer started her nursing career in 1986 at Newcastle Hospitals Foundation Trust, after becoming a qualified nurse she worked in both medical and surgical directorates where she gained a senior role which led her to infection control and endoscope decontamination. She has dedicated a substantial amount of her nursing career to the NHS, and this has given her the advantage of the understanding of NHS policies and procedures.
Jennifer left the NHS in 2004 to take up the role of a clinical nurse educator/advisor within the MedTech Industry this is where she furthered her passion for educating, focusing on decontamination in Endoscopy and Sterile Services, infection control, clinical technical support, and competency-based training. She has also been at the forefront in the development of various product support guidelines during her employment within the industry. She is now working independently as a clinical advisor/educator for the NHS and MedTech Industry.
Professionally she has maintained her nurse registration and continued with her education gaining City & Guilds teaching qualifications and a certificate in higher education (CertEd). She continues to follow developments in the NHS to enhance her personal professional development this includes completing the required ongoing mandatory training.
Jennifer is a committee member of the Central Sterilising Club a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to the continuous improvement of standards in the decontamination of medical devices and infection control where her current role is the membership secretary, she is also a member of the of the IDSC and IPS.
Jennifer lives in Newcastle upon Tyne but is originally from Rossendale in Lancashire. Her hobbies include music festivals, theatre, sewing, reading and spending time in her campervan.
With a packed 2026 coming up Jennifer is looking forward to delivering the ATD training programme across the country and we’re very lucky to have such an experienced, knowledgeable trainer on board. Welcome to ATD Jenn!
